Hello all HiFi lovers!

I have joined this forum while looking for resources to restore some of the Jamo Power series speakers I own. I discussed this with BRIG and he said it is ok to join and discuss in English, as I really do not speak a word French, except form Renault, Alpine, Citroen, etc... :=))

I am almost 45 years old and I have always been a HiFi fan. I have owned Nakamichi, Rotel, Tannoy and currently Philips and Infinity. My main interest is in the hifi of the 1980 area, my youth. That is why I currently am working on getting one of each Jamo Power speaker. Not for their excellent performance (my little Tannoy 631 were the best I've owned so far) but just for the bold looks and their memories of sweet teenage years.

In my office (which looks like an old garage!) I have a DJ setup, 2x Technics SL1200, Inkel MX995 mixer, a 100 W RMS PA amp and my Jamo speakers... Almost once a week we have a music party here in the evening, friends bring in their favorite Vinyl and we're having a few hours of musical extravaganza and a trip through various music styles and memories from 'when we were young'. I mostly play the really old House music (1985 - 1990) from Detroit and Chicago, Italo Disco and the better 'underground' disco by producers like Denis Lepage (Lime), Bobby 'O', Georgio Moroder, Patric Cowley, etc...
And all tracks must be mixed together! :-))

The Jamo's do a very great job in reproducing this kind of music.

I love the more 'obscure' brands in HiFi and Cabasse is one of them because this is Extremely rare in the Netherlands! I will include a few pics:

My very good friend Frederic, who is actually an excellent DJ.

Here I'm playing some funky tunes

The Inkel MX995 which is still in excellent condition! And it has a very nice 'warm' sound!

Overview. In the left backcorner is the set.

And the current set at home

Hello Henri,

Very nice and refreshing presentation !

I like the place where you took your pictures. It looks like a garage, a very clean one.
Are you a mechanic ?
I ask you this question because many members love cars, especially vintage cars...

Well, i just want to tell you once more "you are welcome on this forum".

Don't be disappointed or hurt because you don't have answers about Jamo Power Series.
They are not popular at all in France. Most of audiophiles don't consider them as HIFI speakers.
I imagine that's the same in your country.

Anyway, in the other hand it's a chance to buy them for a very low price.

Of course, you will know everything about the end of my Power 500 renovation.
Be patient.

Hello BRIG!

Thank you for your kind words! My 'office' is official a workshop, but I redecorated it to be a design studio. I am a website builder and SEO and Social Media specialist. I build and maintain websites and handle online marketing for my customers.
The 'garage' look is not coincidental: I am also a huge fan of classic cars. In one of the pics you can see the butt of a Renault 15! I have owned several classic cars over the years. At the moment I do not have a classic car because I had to invest all my money into my online marketing company! So the Renault was sold.

But I do collect 'toy cars'. I have some old Majorette cars from 1965 - 1973. And some more brands... :-)

Jamo is not considered a serious HiFi brand in the Netherlands as well. But the music I like is also never intended to be audiophile! I really enjoy listening to my music and mix the tracks together. It is so different from how audiophiles enjoy their music, but in the end we all love music! For the love of music!!!

Henri

Hi Henri,

One of my friend is also a website builder. He's always very busy.

If you want to talk about cars or another subject without link with HIFI, you can open a topic here : http://cabasse.vraiforum.com/f51-Hors-Pistes.htm
We called this part "Café du Commerce" because discussions are the same as we have when we go for a drink in french Café.

So, you like Renault !

Renault Fifteen is now very rare, even in France. It's a nice car, especially when it's called Renault Seventeen (the same more powerful).
